Is Google into in-game advertising?
Monday, January 22 2007 @ 05:57 PM
There were unconfirmed reports from the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) that Google may be venturing into in-game advertising when and if its deal with Adscape will be sealed this week
Adscape, a San Francisco-based company, is a provider of in-game advertisements.
WSJ said Google is planning to expand advertising efforts to various types of media and in-game ads would be in line with it.
If Google pushes through with the deal with Adspace, it would mean further competition with Microsoft who has already entered the in-game ad market when it purchasedf in-game ad provider, Massive, last year for $200 million.
Both Google and Adspace have no official announcement about the report.
